Killing the Blues

© By Rowland Salley

Leaves are falling, just like embers
In colors of red and gold
They set us on fire
Burning just like the moon beam in your eyes

Somebody said they saw me
I was swinging the world by the tail
Bouncing over the white clouds
Killing the blues

Now I'm guilty of something
I hope you never do
Cause there ain't nothing
Any sadder than loosing yourself in love

Somebody said they saw me
I was swinging the world by the tail
Bouncing over the white clouds
Killing the blues

Then you asked me, just to leave you
And set out on my own and get what I needed
You wanted me to find out what I already had
